Written to describe what the product genuinely does, in the order it happens.

Browsing without an account

You can search, open the globe, read destinations and use the concierge without signing up. Nothing you type into the search is attached to an identity, and we do not build a profile of visitors.

Accounts

An account exists only when someone signs up. It stores an email address, an optional display name, and the trips and stamps that account has collected. There are no anonymous accounts created in the background.

Check-ins never record where you are

This is the most unusual thing about Anywhen, so it deserves the plainest possible sentence: a check-in records a destination and a timestamp, and never the traveller's position.

When you check in, your device compares your location to the destination locally, in the browser. What leaves your device is the destination identifier and a coarse accuracy figure so the server can reject a reading too imprecise to trust. Your coordinates are never transmitted, never logged and never stored. There is no location history in Anywhen, because there is nothing to keep one from.

Trips you have merely planned are marked as planned and can never become verified stamps.

Analytics

We use the analytics built into Lovable, the platform Anywhen is hosted on, for aggregate visit counts — how many people opened a page, which pages, roughly where in the world. It is counting, not tracking: we do not use it to follow an individual across the site.

Affiliate links and cookies

Some outbound links to accommodation and activity providers are affiliate links. When you follow one, the partner you land on may set its own cookies to attribute the visit, under its own privacy policy. Anywhen does not receive your booking details from them, only whether a booking happened.

We do not sell personal data, we do not share it with data brokers, and there are no advertising networks or ad trackers on this site.

Abuse prevention

To stop the concierge being used as a free machine for bulk requests, we count requests per day against a one-way hash of the requesting IP address. The raw address is never written down; only the hash and a count for that day.

Deleting your account

Email hello@travelanywhen.com from the address on the account and ask for deletion. The account, its profile, its trips and its stamps are removed, and the rankings recompute without them. You can also ask for a copy of what is stored against your account, or for a correction to it.
